Job summary

Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking an Equipment Operator (Non-Driver) for our Big Island location to operate heavy equipment and support solar construction projects, ensuring safety and efficiency on site.

Responsibilities include operating excavators, dozers, loaders, and forklifts; performing pre- and post-operational checks; coordinating with the team; and maintaining a tidy, safe work area. The role requires strong safety compliance and the ability to pass a drug screen and physical.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment in construction/industrial settings.
• Ability to operate multiple types of heavy equipment safely.
• Strong understanding of equipment capabilities, limitations, and safety procedures.
• Physically able to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, in various weather conditions.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Effective communication and teamwork in a field environment.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, forklifts) for grading, trenching, material handling, and site prep.
• Adhere to safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company policies while operating equipment.
• Perform pre-operational and post-operational checks and report defects.
• Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Load and unload materials and supplies, ensuring proper securing and handling.
• Assist with general labor tasks on site when not operating equipment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and site personnel.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow project plans and specifications accurately.
