Job summary

DEPCOM Power is seeking a Commissioning Technician to deliver commissioning support for solar projects. You will perform equipment testing, substation/relay commissioning, and assist the SCADA team while traveling up to 80% of the time, including weekends.

You will also conduct NETA and NERC testing for external customers. Safety training is required, and you will train subcontractors on protocols like LOTO.

Qualifications

• Travel up to 80% and weekend/holiday work as needed.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 3+ years testing, troubleshooting and servicing electrical distribution and control systems (HS+).
• Alternative: trade school completion with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with power quality measurements and protective relays.

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning and testing of substation and interconnect equipment.
• Support SCADA team with system integration and troubleshooting.
• Maintain logs, checklists, and LOTO documentation.
• Lead startup and energization of electrical systems.
• Train subcontractors and vendors on safety protocols.
• Troubleshoot field issues and develop procedures.
• Participate in progress meetings and maintain project docs.
• Manage small projects and lead field teams on larger efforts.
• Deliver timely service reports and performance insights.
