Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Staff Civil Engineering Technician for Solar projects based in Phoenix, AZ, or nearby offices. You will support site development, grading, drainage, and utility layouts for utility-scale renewable energy projects, using Civil 3D, PVcase, and PVFarm.

Under supervision, you’ll prepare and modify design deliverables, join multidisciplinary teams, and apply BV standards while mentoring others as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Diploma or Certificate required.
• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search).

Responsibilities

• Functions in a project engineering technician capacity.
• Develops and modifies technical deliverables for civil engineering designs.
• Prepares site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts.
• Uses CAD/BIM tools to create, modify, and maintain documentation.
• Supports field activities and coordinates with design group personnel.
