Job summary

Black & Veatch offers a Staff Civil Engineering Technician role within the VDDS team to support utility-scale solar and wind projects. Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate required.
• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
• Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Functions in a project engineering technician capacity.
• Develops and modifies technical deliverables for engineering teams.
• Applies foundational engineering principles to create moderately complex design concepts and solutions.
• Uses CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling to produce drawings and project documentation.
• Provides technical guidance to other professionals to ensure quality and consistency across outputs.
• Coordinates with design group personnel to review and exchange project information.
