Job summary

GAF Energy is seeking a Certification and Compliance Engineer 3 to lead UL and IEC certifications for new solar roofs, driving compliant products into mass production. You will work with a cross‑functional team to certify solar shingles and ensure Labs and Factories compliance.

Responsibilities include planning, pre‑testing, coordinating with NRTL s, and providing design feedback to improve reliability and performance. Travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) required.
• Minimum 5 years of UL/IEC certification experience for solar products.
• Experience with environmental chambers, test instruments, and data systems.
• Strong data analysis skills, including statistical methods.
• Ability to develop and execute design validation plans and test methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead certification and compliance for solar roof products.
• Plan and run test programs and coordinate with NRTLs.
• Identify applicable codes and standards and pre-test products.
• Collaborate with design, reliability, and product teams.
• Maintain project schedules and ensure on-time certification.
• Contribute to renewable energy code advancement via committee groups.
