Job summary

GAF Energy is transforming the rooftop solar industry, leveraging robust R&D to develop and test solar laminates and modules. The role focuses on design, prototyping, and validating new materials with industry partners to ensure high performance and long-term reliability.

You will work in lab, pilot, and production environments, collaborating across teams and presenting findings to leadership. A strong track record in PV R&D and safety certifications is desired.

Qualifications

• Hands-on problem solver, great communicator, energetic, forward-thinking, and good at balancing priorities.
• Proof: A proven track record of innovation, problem-solving, and delivering technical solutions on time.
• Experience defining engineering specs for processes, testing, and quality control for high-volume production.

Responsibilities

• Envision, design, and prototype solar laminates/shingles in the lab.
• Test and validate products to meet performance goals with reliability teams.
• Develop new materials/designs with suppliers and collaborators.
• Use software (optical, electrical, thermal) to speed up the design process.
• Troubleshoot complex issues with rapid problem-solving.
• Mentor and share solar laminate development expertise with the team.
• Collaborate to plan, develop, and launch new solar products.
• Present concepts and results to executives and stakeholders.
