Job summary

GAF Energy is seeking a Certification and Compliance Engineer 3 to lead UL and IEC certification for solar roofs and deliver mass-production readiness. You will coordinate tests, ensure labs and factories stay compliant, and provide design feedback based on test data.

The role requires 5 years of UL/IEC experience, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, and collaboration with multiple teams to advance renewable energy products. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 5 years of UL/IEC certification experience for solar products.
• Experience with environmental chambers, test instruments, and data systems.
• Strong data analysis skills, especially statistics.
• Experience creating and executing design validation plans and tests.

Responsibilities

• Lead certification for new solar roofs (UL/IEC) and ensure mass-production readiness.
• Coordinate tests, pre-tests, and verify compliance with relevant codes/standards.
• Work with NRTLs to obtain compliance and interface with certification bodies.
• Provide design feedback to drive product improvements based on test results.
• Collaborate with engineering and product management on new designs and test methods.
