Job summary

AES Corporation, a global leader in renewable energy, seeks a Solar & BESS Technician II to perform on-site O&M for utility-scale solar plants in California. The role requires hands-on experience with PV systems, electrical fundamentals, and a proactive safety mindset, driving reliability and performance.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter capable of building and leading field personnel, with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, multi-site

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year technical degree or journeyman qualifications.
• 3+ years as PV O&M solar technician or 5+ years in a power plant with 1+ year PV O&M/construction experience.
• Knowledge of electrical/mechanical fundamentals (single craft journeyman).

Responsibilities

• Perform O&M activities for utility-scale solar plants in California's Central Valley and Kern County.
• Conduct corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance per safety standards.
• Operate and maintain equipment including PV trackers and inverters; read controls and wire diagrams.
