Job summary

Knobelsdorff is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the Energy division on solar and BESS projects. You will design, analyze, and optimize electrical systems, ensuring code compliance and high-quality field performance.

Responsibilities include creating layouts, specs, and drawings, conducting site visits, and coordinating with regulators and customers. A 3–5 year background in renewables is preferred; travel to sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in solar, renewable energy, or power systems design.
• Working knowledge of NEC and renewable energy standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PVCase, and MS Office.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze electrical systems for solar and BESS installations.
• Create system layouts, stringing plans, voltage drop calcs, and specs.
• Support construction with site visits and technical reviews.
• Develop and maintain drawings, equipment specs, and reports.
• Ensure NEC/NESC compliance and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, customers, and regulators.
• Review vendor submittals and coordinate with procurement.
• Maintain project documentation and data in databases.
• Provide field feedback and improvements; assist with interconnection.
• Travel to job sites as needed.
