Job summary

Knobelsdorff (KE) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the Energy division, focusing on solar and BESS projects. You will design, analyze, and optimize electrical systems, ensuring constructible and code‑compliant designs while upholding KE’s safety and performance values.

You’ll collaborate with project managers, customers, and regulators, travel to sites as needed, and contribute to documentation and permitting efforts. This is a full‑time role with competitive total rewards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in solar, renewable energy, or power systems design.
• Working knowledge of the NEC and applicable renewable energy standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, PVCase, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze electrical systems for solar and BESS installations.
• Create system layouts, stringing plans, voltage drop calcs, and specifications.
• Support construction with site visits and technical reviews.
• Develop and maintain system drawings, equipment specifications, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, customers, and regulators.
• Review vendor submittals and coordinate with procurement.
• Maintain accurate documentation within project databases.
• Provide feedback and improvements based on field conditions.
• Assist with permitting and interconnection requirements.
• Travel to job sites as needed.
