Job summary

MaxSolar is seeking a Field Technician to troubleshoot and repair solar PV and battery storage systems, conduct preventative maintenance, QA/QC inspections, and site assessments. The role supports O&M activities and commissioning of new installations, reporting on performance data and maintaining thorough field documentation.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering-related associate degree or equivalent certification, a valid electrician license, and NABCEP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Engineering or equivalent training.
• Licensed Electrician; NABCEP certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• 1 year minimum experience with commercial battery storage systems.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with NEC and OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve solar PV and battery storage issues, including corrective maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance and QA/QC inspections to support system performance.
• Design changes, equipment modifications, and commissioning activities.
• Prepare documentation of field activities and maintenance actions.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians.
• Work safely with live electrical devices when required and permitted.
• Operate within PV array limits up to 1000 VDC and distribution systems up to 600 VAC.
