Job summary

MaxSolar is seeking a Field Technician to troubleshoot and repair solar PV and battery storage systems, perform preventive maintenance, and support QA/QC inspections and commissioning. You will work on electrical and mechanical tasks on-site, including live-system troubleshooting where permitted.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's degree or technical certification, a valid driver’s license, and experience with commercial scale battery storage.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent technical certification/training required.
• Licensed Electrician and NABCEP certification preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license with clean record.
• 1+ year experience with commercial scale battery storage systems preferred.
• Ability to work remotely and independently is a plus.
• Experience with power electronic equipment and metering is preferred.
• Familiarity with CMMS/Ticketing systems and mobile reporting tools.
• Knowledge of NEC and local building codes and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and system checks on solar equipment.
• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment issues identified during inspections or daily operations.
• Conduct electrical testing, measurements, and diagnostics to identify issues.
• Review performance data from monitoring platforms and flag concerns.
• Prepare documentation of all field activities and maintenance actions.
• Follow safety protocols and company policies; support junior technicians.
• Assist with QA/QC, commissioning of new installations, and site assessments.
• Manage preventive maintenance tasks and basic electrical work.
• Perform advanced testing and troubleshooting on live equipment as required.
