Job summary

SpaceX in Washington state is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer, Solar (Starlink) to design, build, and deploy automation for our solar array production line. You will collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team to improve manufacturing efficiency and reliability across hardware and software systems.

Ideal candidates hold a STEM degree and hands-on automation experience, with strong PLC, vision, and electrical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
• 1+ years designing automation and controls for manufacturing (internships/co-ops ok).
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and implement projects spanning automation, robotics and manufacturing processes from ideation to production.
• Architect, write and debug PLC code.
• Implement vision systems for robotic guidance and data collection.
• Design systems to track factory performance and improve efficiency.
• Create user interfaces for complex machines and troubleshoot.
• Develop electrical, pneumatic and fluid schematics for control panels.
• Maintain safety compliant systems in factories.
