Job summary

Invenergy LLC is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering intern/co-op to support day-to-day operations of its utility-scale solar fleet in the Chicago area. You’ll work with the Generation Control Center, SCADA, field technicians, EHS, and other engineers to troubleshoot issues and maximize energy production.

You will analyze SCADA results, inspect equipment, and develop procedures for safe, efficient operation. Travel <20% and field work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline, graduating Dec 2026–Aug 2027.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong written and verbal communication; team oriented.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for day-to-day operations of the solar fleet.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Generation Control Center, SCADA, field technicians, EHS, other engineers).
• Identify and resolve equipment reliability and performance issues using data from SCADA and inspections.
• Develop procedures and technical documentation for safe, efficient operation of solar facilities.
• Participate in site operation calls and onboard new solar projects into the fleet.
