Job summary

Invenergy is seeking an Early Career Solar Operations Engineer in Chicago, IL to support day-to-day operations of our utility-scale solar fleet. You will collaborate with Generation Control Center, SCADA, field technicians and other engineers to troubleshoot and improve performance, analyze SCADA data, and develop procedures for safe, efficient operation.

Ideal candidates are entering a Bachelor’s program in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, graduating between December 2026 and August 2027,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree expected Dec 2026–Aug 2027.
Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering support for the day-to-day operations of the Invenergy utility-scale solar fleet.
Collaborate with cross functional teams, including the Generation Control Center, SCADA, field technicians, EHS, and other engineers to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
Identify, evaluate, and resolve equipment reliability and performance issues to maximize site energy production by analyzing parts usage, inspection results, and SCADA data to gain operational insights.
Work with equipment manufacturers to resolve technical issues and implement best operating practices.
Develop procedures and technical documentation regarding the safe and efficient operation of solar facilities.
Evaluate electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering drawings and studies associated with photovoltaic systems and their applications for operations.
