Job summary

Invenergy, headquartered in Chicago, seeks a Solar Applications Project Engineer to evaluate and implement owner furnished equipment across its solar development and construction pipeline. The role travels up to 25% and reports to the Applications Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities include acting as SME on PV modules, inverters, and racking/tracker tech, coordinating with suppliers, and supporting on-site installation through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 3+ years of renewable energy experience.
• Understanding of PV plant design, manufacturing processes, and construction.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical SME on PV modules, inverters, racking/tracker tech for Invenergy’s solar projects.
• Facilitate implementation of owner furnished equipment on solar projects.
• Advise on technology assumptions for development projects.
• Support reviews of off-take requirements and specs for major equipment.
• Coordinate with suppliers’ technical teams to ensure suitable tech for construction.
• Translate supplier specs into site designs or performance models.
• Support on-site installation and commissioning through construction end.
• Troubleshoot owner furnished equipment as issues arise.
• Collaborate with construction teams to feed lessons learned into specs and sourcing strategies.
• Coordinate quality control with suppliers, labs, and third parties.
