Job summary

Geo-Logic Associates seeks a Laboratory Manager/Supervisor for its Soil Testing Laboratory to lead a multidisciplinary team in geotechnical and environmental testing. The role offers opportunities for professional growth and employee ownership within a respected private firm.

You will supervise staff, oversee soil sample preparation and testing, manage lab operations including budgets and invoicing, assemble testing equipment, direct experiments, and ensure data accuracy for client projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in engineering, geology, environmental science, or laboratory analysis.
• Experience managing and supervising laboratory staff.
• Strong understanding of basic scientific principles.
• Experience with standard laboratory safety, cleanliness, and quality practices.
• Aptitude for mechanical and system troubleshooting.
• Strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervising Laboratory Staff.
• Overseeing the preparation of soil samples for testing and measuring routine soil geotechnical properties following standardized procedures in a non-traditional work environment.
• Managing laboratory business operations including project budgets, invoicing, expense filing, etc.
• Assembling testing equipment.
• Directing research experiments.
• Applying basic math skills and scientific principles to laboratory testing and data interpretation.
• Fulfilling contractual obligations to clients.
• Meeting client deadlines while adhering to quality standards.
