Shannon & Wilson Inc. is seeking a Lab Manager to oversee geotechnical soils laboratory operations and testing. The role requires ensuring accreditations, supervising technicians, and coordinating data results for clients and projects.

The candidate should have a BS in Civil Engineering or Geology, 5+ years of lab experience, and strong communication and writing skills. Travel to support offices and field sites is required.

Qualifications

• BS Civil Engineering or Geology degree is required.
• 5+ years of laboratory technician experience in geotechnical soils.
• Experience performing geotechnical soils lab tests.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
• Excellent writing and organizational skills.
• Must travel to support field sites.
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical soils laboratory testing including gradations, swell, Atterberg limits, compaction, and triaxial strength.
• Maintain laboratory accreditation, certifications, and calibrations.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and software.
• Process test data and prepare clear results for clients and staff.
• Ensure compliance with standards and Shannon & Wilson QA policies.
• Supervise and review the work of lab technicians.
• Interact with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.
