Job summary

SOCOTEC US seeks an autonomous leader to establish and run a new Geotechnical/Construction Materials Laboratory in Tampa. You will supervise staff, manage testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt, and ensure QA, safety, and productivity while coordinating with clients.

You will maintain equipment, calibrations, and laboratory SOPs, drive KPI reporting and billing, and build client relationships in a growing, high-performance environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in civil engineering or related discipline; PE preferred but not required.
• 5-10 years' experience leading a laboratory or technical group.
• ACI and FDOT/CTQP certifications preferred; must acquire within 1 year of start date.
• Experience in soil and rock laboratory work; strong communication and software skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee geotechnical and construction material laboratory operations and staff.
• Coordinate testing, compile and submit reports to clients; supervise others performing the same.
• Maintain lab workload, QA/QMS compliance, and safety; ensure productivity.
