Job summary

RTX is seeking a software-focused professional to join the Test Solutions Engineering team within the Hardware Discipline Center. You will design, code, and test Windows applications and automated test environments that interface with engineering hardware across the product lifecycle.

Join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to create robust tools, participate in design reviews, and apply Agile and Waterfall practices while advancing defense-grade software solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. Degree must be obtained by start date.
• Experience developing, testing, or integrating software applications using one or more programming languages, such as C, C++, C#, Python, or Visual Basic (VB/VBA/.NET).
• Experience developing, building, and debugging software applications targeting Windows operating systems using the Microsoft Visual Studio IDE.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and integrate object-oriented software applications and test software targeting Windows operating platforms.
• Develop and derive system-level software requirements, operational specifications, and architectural designs.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize software applications to ensure rigorous test accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with systems, electrical, and mechanical engineers to integrate software test tools with specialized hardware instrumentation.
• Participate actively in formal design reviews, code peer reviews, and technical defect resolution.
• Work within structured engineering frameworks applying both Agile and Waterfall development lifecycles.
