Job summary

Sophia Space builds the full software stack for orbital edge computing, including operating systems, firmware, platform infrastructure, runtime services, automation, and mission workloads deployed on NVIDIA Jetson hardware in low Earth orbit.

The Technical Program Manager owns the execution system that turns milestone goals, technical plans, release commitments, and cross-functional dependencies into a coherent program flow.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of combined professional experience in software or related fields.
• Two or more years in technical program management or release management.
• Ability to engage credibly with senior engineers on architecture and interfaces.
• Experience managing complex software programs with multiple owners.
• Strong understanding of planning, validation, release readiness, and risk management.
• Experience establishing lightweight execution systems for milestone planning and risk visibility.

Responsibilities

• Own the software milestone execution rhythm from planning through release.
• Partner with software leadership to define integrated program plans and capacity constraints.
• Translate milestone goals into coordinated execution plans across platform infrastructure and runtimes.
• Maintain an accurate execution record covering progress, dependencies, risks, and release status.
• Establish intake, triage, and risk-management practices with clear owners and actions.
• Coordinate software release readiness, identify gaps, and recommend release actions.
• Coordinate with business development and product teams on capability needs and schedules.
