Position Location:Remote Telework/Work-from-Home Authorized: Yes About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Software Systems Engineer (Lead) to support the design, development, maintenance, and integration of complex software systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in software architecture, systems programming, and cross-functional system integration, with a focus on DoD-compliant, open-system architectures. This role requires hands-on technical leadership, strong systems engineering skills, and the ability to direct and evaluate the work of a multidisciplinary technical team. Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To: Lead the design and development of complex software applications and modify/maintain existing applications using vendor engineering releases and tools. Provide top-level technical expertise in software systems programming and system architecture analysis. Develop system architectures integrating software, hardware, and communications components to meet current and future operational requirements. Ensure compliance with DoD open system standards and architectures. Identify and assess options for hardware and software upgrades to meet evolving functional and technical requirements. Interact with project management to establish technical direction and align with project schedules. Create and maintain high-level system design documentation, diagrams, and programming specifications. Oversee and review the work of other developers, engineers, and task personnel. Conduct software product evaluations and quality assurance reviews. Perform operating system-level maintenance and support for telecommunications networks, accounting systems, and complex analytical software suites. Support all phases of the software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Evaluate new and existing software products for integration and deployment. Perform other duties, as assigned. Experience Requirements: Ten (10) years of experience in systems engineering and software development. Demonstrated experience with MicroStrategy or other Business Intelligence (BI) platforms, including analytics, data modeling, and dashboard development. Experience implementing modern security technologies, including blockchain or advanced cryptographic solutions. Certificate, License, and Registration Requirements: Relevant technical certification from a nationally recognized authority (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, AWS, ISC, etc.). Other Required Skills & Abilities: Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Security Clearance Requirements: Secret Clearance Other: Tier 3 (T3) NACLC/ANACI US Citizenship Requirements: This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Sawdey Solution Services to staff it only with U.S. Citizens.
