The position is 100% onsite, requires at least 3 years in C/C++/embedded software, and 7+ years in safety-oriented design, with up to 5% travel.

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's in a STEM field; advanced degree preferred.
3+ years in C/C++ or embedded software development or testing.
7+ years designing software to meet safety goals per MIL-STD-882E/ISO 26262.
Experience with model-based software development techniques.
Experience with requirements management tools such as Cameo or DOORS.

Responsibilities

Analyze and decompose system and software requirements into Software Criticality Indices per MIL-STD-882 and related handbooks.
Develop requirements/designs and assess implementations for hazards and causal factors to meet safety objectives.
Support system hazard analysis.
Recommend safety criteria for system design, equipment, and procedures to mitigate hazards.
Create software subsystem architecture designs for features across electronic controllers.
Review software architecture/design for safety of electronic/software systems.
Review test plans/procedures for safety requirements verification and hazardous operations.
Collaborate with Systems, Software, and Test teams to address software safety throughout development lifecycle.
