Job summary

VAS, a URUS Group company, seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead an engineering team, shape architecture, and drive delivery across product and design stakeholders. This hands-on leadership role emphasizes speed, quality, and close alignment with technology strategy.

You will mentor engineers, guide architecture decisions, and ensure sustainable development practices while delivering impactful software for dairy management.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with a strong technical foundation.
• 4+ years of experience leading or managing software engineering teams.
• Experience with mobile development including React Native, iOS, or Android.
• Experience with offline-first architecture and environments with limited connectivity.
• Experience with modern stack: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, .NET, Node.js, APIs, or microservices.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, design patterns, and modern development.
• Experience with AWS and modern cloud environments.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps, and modern delivery processes.
• Experience leading software delivery using Agile or Scrum.
• Proven ability to work across Product, Design, Engineering, business teams, and senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing software engineering team with a collaborative culture.
• Drive Agile delivery including planning, standups, retrospectives, and blockers removal.
• Set goals, manage capacity, and maintain momentum across priorities.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, technical strategy, code reviews, debugging.
• Establish engineering best practices, quality standards, testing, and sustainable processes.
• Balance delivery speed with quality, reduce technical debt, protect platform health.
• Evaluate new technologies and approaches to improve effectiveness and impact.
• Partner with Product, Design, Business, and Engineering to align priorities.
• Communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs to senior leaders.
• Recruit, onboard, and retain strong engineering talent with ongoing learning.
