Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense System is seeking a Manager Software Engineer 1 to lead a team of 10-15 engineers in the Mission Planning department, located in Hollywood, MD or Manhattan Beach, CA.

The role requires a BS+ in STEM, 5+ years of software engineering with Agile/SAFe, and an active DoD Secret clearance or CEP. Responsibilities include staffing, performance reviews, salary decisions, and staff development to meet program needs.

Qualifications

• BS or higher degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with software engineering including Agile or SAFe.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Active DoD Secret clearance or CEP enrollment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 10-15 engineers in the Mission Planning department.
• Coordinate staffing, performance reviews, promotions, and salary adjustments.
• Provide career guidance and training to staff; support program goals.
• Develop forward-looking processes aligned to strategic objectives.
