Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Software Engineering Manager in Newton, MA to lead a data-focused engineering team building scalable solutions. You will guide architecture decisions, collaborate with data scientists and governance, and drive delivery using modern tech like AWS, Elasticsearch, React, Python, and GraphQL.

Lead design of ETL pipelines, REST integrations, and AI-infused data processing while mentoring engineers and ensuring production reliability. Hybrid work model included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 5 years of experience (or a Master’s with 3 years).
• Experience in healthcare domain.
• Experience with Python ETL scripts and REST API integrations.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and graph databases.
• DevOps practices including CI/CD and Agile delivery.
• Designing, developing, and implementing Python standalone applications; integrating with Hadoop.
• Developing RESTful API interactions for data processing and accessibility.
• Developing unit and functional tests in Python.
• Designing and implementing robust ETL processes for structured and semi-structured data from various RDBMS.
• Developing XML-based data migration workflows.
• Code refactoring and reviews.
• Supporting deployed CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical leaders to define a shared vision for data solutions.
• Provide technical leadership in architecting applications and strategic technology decisions.
• Design and implement data-rich applications using AWS, Elasticsearch, React, Python, ML, and GraphQL.
• Incorporate AI-generated data to deliver user value.
• Translate requirements into technical specs and usage criteria for enterprise solutions.
• Ensure adherence to architectural standards and business direction.
• Provide support to deployed applications in Production and improve performance.
