Job summary

The Cigna Group seeks a Software Engineering Advisor in Bloomfield, CT to design, build, and optimize scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Spark.

You will implement cloud-native data platforms on AWS, build lakehouse storage with Delta Lake/Iceberg/Hudi, and drive governance, CI/CD, and AI-enabled use cases while ensuring security and reliability. Hybrid work schedule included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 5 years of software engineering experience in healthcare.
• Experience designing and building large-scale data pipelines with Python and Spark (Databricks); Teradata.
• Experience with AWS data and compute services (S3, Glue, EC2, IAM, VPC, Lake Formation, CloudWatch).
• Develop reusable Python libraries and automation frameworks for ETL and testing with cross-team adoption.
• CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and CloudBees with automated testing, quality gates, and controlled release workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support Teradata Vantage solutions leveraging QueryGrid/ ClearScape Analytics/ AI Unlimited for analytics and high-performance SQL workloads.
• Implement cloud-native data platforms on AWS (S3, Glue, EC2, VPC, IAM, Lake Formation), including secure networking and governance.
• Build lakehouse storage using Delta Lake plus Iceberg/Hudi for ACID transactions and time travel.
• Provision infrastructure with Terraform, ensuring repeatable environments and cost controls.
• Create and operate CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation (Git, Jenkins, CloudBees, Ansible) with tests and release orchestration.
• Integrate governance and privacy controls using Immuta and Delphix for policy enforcement and environment refreshes.
• Design observability and incident response workflows with Splunk for proactive monitoring.
• Publish curated datasets and semantic layers for BI tools like Tableau/Looker.
