WMG is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a fast-evolving Automated Marketing engineering team in California, building internal tools and data pipelines, including AI-driven solutions for marketing problems.

You will own team deliverables, set technical strategy, mentor engineers, hire and grow talent, and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver value. This is a hands-on leadership role with a focus on data in the music industry.

Qualifications

A little bit about our team:

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our fast-evolving Automated Marketing engineering team. This person will work closely with marketing and product teams to deliver value to the business quickly through the development of internal tools and pipelines ranging from early prototypes to fully-supported products. This team focuses on the full stack, including data engineering, data pipelining, backend development in Python, and front-end development in React. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a world-class team on AI/ML-driven solutions to complex marketing problems.

Your role:

• Own team deliverables and objectives
• Set technical strategy and engineering best practices in collaboration with senior engineers
• Provide active career development and technical guidance to engineers

• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to ensure successful project management
• Reimagine and implement the future of data for the music industry

• You're a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field
• You’re a passionate engineering leader, with at least 2 years of experience leading engineering teams of 5-10+ software engineers
• You are a hands-on leader who writes code, conducts code reviews, and is involved in architectural design and strategy work
• You communicate effectively and have a proven track record of effective hiring and team building
• You thrive in ambiguity and fast-paced, evolving environments
• You’re an empathetic leader who builds strong teams
• You’ve worked with and/or overseen teams working with AWS and Python

We’d love it if you also had:

• Development experience with AWS, Python, and React is a plus, although not mandatory.
