Job description

Your Role

The goal of the Dimensional Data Team (DDT) is to own and deliver dimensional data on concepts like Artists, Participants, Albums, and Tracks to business users and internal WMG products, empowering artist and music label decisions.

We are looking for a Software Engineer to build and manage data sets, pipelines, transformations, APIs, and front‑end products that abstract away data complexity for our stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to join a high–performing engineering team that drives significant impact across WMG’s technology initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Reimagine and implement the future of tech for the music industry.
  • Work as part of a dynamic and highly effective team.
  • Own features through the full development lifecycle – design, creation, test, deployment, maintenance.
  • Implement maintainable solutions with high quality and reliability that can scale as the business continues to grow.
  • Learn and grow as a professional through close collaboration with team members and engineering leaders, and by being part of a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in backend or full‑stack development.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS or another large cloud computing environment.
  • Strong distributed systems skills, including making systems fast and scalable and measuring performance metrics such as latency and throughput.
  • Strong operational excellence best practices: testing, monitoring, paging, and incident management.
  • Strong understanding of developing APIs, backend services, databases, data pipelines, and data warehousing.
  • Experience with the tech stack primarily consisting of Python, Databricks, AWS, Postgres, Typescript, React, and Snowflake is a plus, although not mandatory.
  • High sense of ownership and a drive to deliver impact in a fast‑paced, evolving, ambiguous environment.
  • Strong debugging skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
  • Drive to grow, learn, and master the craft of software development.
