Overview

The new Forward Deployed Engineering Team within the Data and Insights Organization in WMG Global Tech is a specialized capability that focuses on solving a diverse range of problems across our business. This team will partner with our Product Solutions team and work with our key business stakeholders across Warner Music Group to rapidly build and deploy automation and solutions using data and AI. If you love working directly with customers on a variety of different problems while using world‑class data platforms to create awesome solutions, and you’ve got strong software engineering and data fundamentals, this role might be a great fit.

We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join our organization. As an FDE, you will work directly with our most important business stakeholders across labels and global functions to deliver rapid solutions leveraging data and AI. Strong candidates will thrive when partnering with non‑technical customers, have great product instincts, lots of empathy, and can intersect AI solutions with their pain points to turn painful tasks that take weeks into workflows that take minutes. This role entails full stack solution engineering, including data pipelining and interop, backend development in Python, dashboard and Streamlit app development, and leveraging Databricks and Snowflake AI tools such as Genie and Cortex to create solutions in hours that used to take days. Responsibilities

• Deliver Impactful Solutions for Diverse Stakeholders: Proven capability to step into different problem spaces and work with diverse people to turn work that takes weeks into minutes.
• Full-Stack Engineering: Ability to flex across backend, frontend, data pipelines, AI tools, Python, React. When you aren’t a pro at something, you can use AI effectively to deliver and you know how to make sure that the engineering stays excellent along the way.
• AI Solutions Delivery: Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to design, build, and deploy production solutions to accelerate non‑technical stakeholders.
• Product Sense and Impact: Ability to rapidly understand and develop a solution without having curated requirements. You can step into a problem space with little context, rapidly understand what needs to be done, and deliver impact.
• Empathy and Customer Communication: Strong ability to communicate in non‑technical language to stakeholders from entry to executive level. Proven ability to both manage expectations and keep customers up to date.
• AI Solutions Engineering: Familiarity working with AI tools such as Gemini, Cortex Code, and Genie Code, and you can wield them to turn solution delivery from weeks into hours.
• Be Curious and Adaptable: You are eager to explore new technologies and you are happy to flex across a variety of problems and domains by the day. You are comfortable with dozens of different problems for different stakeholders at any given time.
• Stay Aligned: Proven ability to contribute to standards and leverage existing tools and systems to ensure the FDE solutions are aligned with the Data and Insights engineering roadmap.

Qualifications

• Experienced, Scrappy, and Creative: You have at least 3 years of software engineering experience. An ideal candidate will have exposure to customers, experience with Python, experience with data pipelining (e.g., ETL) and either Snowflake and/or Databricks (we build on both but one is sufficient for candidates). Ideally, you’ve already used Genie Code or Cortex Code, Notebooks, and Streamlit to some extent to deliver solutions. You’re imaginative and can think of ways to rapidly solve problems.
• Biased to Action and Impact: You have a strong focus on the customer with a bias to action to deliver value quickly. You are deeply motivated when you see pain points to fix them. You can take a manual, scrappy workflow that involved copy‑pasting between tools and use AI to make it feel seamless.
