Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time Software Engineering Intern at our office in Yarmouth, Maine. The role focuses on learning to develop software for Garmin's navigation products, including GNSS & INS positioning solutions, under supervision.

Responsibilities include coding in C/C++/C# or Java, testing with debuggers and emulators, and participating in software releases and QA activities while gaining hands-on experience in a team setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a field relevant to perform the essential functions of this job description.
• Excellent academics (GPA >= 3.0).
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience/training in C, C++, C#, or Java relevant to Garmin’s business needs.
• Experience/training in data structures or object-oriented design.

Responsibilities

• Learn to develop software in C, C++, Assembly language, or other languages for Garmin’s products with guidance.
• Learn to test software using debuggers, emulators, simulators, and logic analyzers.
• Learn to perform software releases and software quality assurance activities.
• Learn to perform maintenance for products in production in addition to new software design.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate and provide feedback on products in development.
