Job summary

Garmin Ltd. is seeking a full-time Software Engineer Intern at the Novi, MI location to learn and contribute to software for Garmin's navigation products under supervision. You will work in a team-oriented environment and develop skills in C, C++, and related languages.

The role emphasizes learning software development methodology, testing with debuggers and simulators, and participating in releases and QA activities while assisting with maintenance of existing products and new designs.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• GPA 3.0 or higher as a general rule.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must possess training in high‑level languages such as C, C++, C# or Java.
• Experience or training in data structures or OO design.

Responsibilities

• Learn to develop software in C, C++, Assembly language, or other languages with guidance.
• Learn to test software with debuggers, emulators, simulators, and logic analyzers.
• Learn to perform software releases and software quality assurance activities.
• Learn to perform maintenance for products in production and new design work.
• Integrate, use and provide feedback on products in development when possible.
