Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time Software Engineer 1 to join our team in Yarmouth, ME. You will build upon existing software to develop basic software for Garmin products and applications.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with strong programming in C, C++, C#, Java, or assembly. Excellent academics are preferred, with opportunities to grow within a market-leading company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to develop basic software in C, C++, C#, Java, assembly, or other languages.

Responsibilities

• Performs new product/app software design and development and maintenance for products/applications using C, C++, C#, Java, assembly or other chosen languages.
• Troubleshoots basic issues, reproduces issues, evaluates cause and implements/tests software solutions.
• Identifies and resolves defects of basic scope using debuggers, emulators, simulators, and logic analyzers.
• Applies design standards and documents basic designs using appropriate engineering tools.
• Supports rotating on-call hours for Garmin’s 24/7 operations.
