Job summary

Cox Automotive in Burlington, VT is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will join a team that builds automation, pipelines, and tools to support infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and testing across multiple environments.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a BA/BS in computer science, comfortable with Windows/Linux, containers, and AWS familiarity, and eager to learn from a program mentor.

Qualifications

• Currently a college student pursuing a BA/BS degree in computer science or related field.
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems, containers and databases.
• Experience with source code, build, deploy, orchestration and configuration management tools.
• Experience in writing code and scripts in at least one high-level programming language.
• Familiarity with AWS and public cloud architectures.
• Familiarity with Agile concepts (Scrum/Kanban).

Responsibilities

• Developing automation for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Documenting new development, procedures or test plans.
• Helping develop and following best practices, security and engineering standards.
• Building tools and pipelines needed to facilitate continuous integration and delivery of software to all environments.
• Automating code packaging, code deployment and configuration management processes to be used across all environments.
• Soliciting feedback from delivery and operations teams about CI/CD challenges and working with them to optimize throughput and quality.
• Tracking system and service performance continuously in all environments.
• Leverage AI tools to assist in productivity, testing, and automation
