Job summary

The Cigna Group seeks a Software Engineering Advisor for Morris Plains, NJ. You will create detailed specifications and designs, conduct assurance reviews of peer code, and serve as a technical resource for less experienced team members.

Responsibilities include ensuring quality and timeliness of development, coordinating with offshore vendors and stakeholders, building batch and online adjustment claim systems, and partnering with QA to resolve defects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or related field with 3 years of experience.
• Experience with Mainframes, COBOL, and DB2.
• Familiarity with Teradata, CICS, Pega, GitHub, Endevor, Claude.ai and AWS Kiro.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality and timeliness of product development and design as a development team member.
• Coordinate with offshore vendors and HIH team members and partner with other stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct analysis, design, develop, and enhance customized applications.
• Create technical designs and solutions that deliver quality solutions for our clients and businesses.
• Build batch and online adjustment claim system.
• Partner with QA teams to resolve solution design deficiencies and related deliverables.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and develop application and system solutions for business mandated products and regular operational processes.
• Perform impact analysis to resolve user queries as necessary. Modify existing applications, implementing, and providing support and training stakeholders as necessary.
• Interact with QA testers to provide necessary information to differentiate defects and set up issues in end-to-end testing.
• Perform root cause analysis to identify the cause of issues in the Test/ Quality environment during SIT and Quality test and assist in fixing the defects.
• Perform stress test analysis and report any deviation or malfunction of any product within software release to achieve the project mission in product development.
• Hybrid work schedule.
