Job description

Carex is partnering with a growing AI engagement platform startup to find a Software Engineer who will own the technical side of client implementations. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys solving integration challenges, working across different technology environments, and figuring things out when the answer is not already documented. The right person will be technically curious, scrappy, and comfortable managing multiple concurrent implementations across different client environments and industries. They should be able to move between integrations, configuration, testing, cloud deployments, and troubleshooting, often across different technologies, without needing every answer or process fully documented. This is a great opportunity for someone earlier in their career who wants broad technical exposure, meaningful ownership, and the chance to work directly with clients, Product, Development, and leadership. Healthcare represents a significant portion of the current client base, with the platform also expanding into additional industries. While the company operates remotely, this role is intended for someone based in New York City, for occasional in person collaboration.

What You'll Do
  • Own the technical components of client implementations, including integrations, configuration, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage multiple concurrent implementation projects across different client environments, technologies, and use cases.
  • Support integrations with CRM, ERP, EMR/EHR, telephony, and other enterprise technology environments.
  • Configure and build technical components of the solution based on client requirements and implementation needs.
  • Support telephony and voice implementations across platforms such as Genesys, Zoom, NICE, RingCentral, 8x8, and similar technologies.
  • Perform system integration testing (SIT), identify issues, and work with internal and client teams to drive resolution.
  • Support cloud-based deployments and troubleshoot connectivity, configuration, and integration issues.
  • Participate in technical discovery sessions and implementation workshops with client stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with the Functional/PM lead to translate business requirements and workflows into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product, Development, Support, and client technical teams throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Help ensure integrations and deployments meet privacy, security, compliance, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute beyond implementation when needed, including product development, technical process improvement, and other initiatives as the company grows.
What You’ll Bring
  • 2-5 years of experience of hands‑on experience with software integrations, technical implementations, or similar customer‑facing technical work.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, integration architecture, and how systems exchange data.
  • Experience working with cloud-based technologies or deployments.
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to independently investigate and resolve technical issues, including troubleshooting with agentic tools as well as the ability to troubleshoot when those tools are unavailable.
  • Strong development skills utilizing current technologies and agentic coding tools with an ability to explain the fundamental process the agents are completing and provide reviews of both human and agentic outputs.
  • Bonus to bring experience developing AI solutions and conversational AI solutions.
  • Experience with system integration testing and validating end‑to‑end workflows.
  • Ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies and work across multiple systems without needing every process fully documented.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent implementations in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Comfort operating independently in an evolving startup environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM, ERP, EMR/EHR, or other enterprise software integrations is highly valuable.
  • Experience with telephony or voice platforms such as Genesys, Zoom, NICE, RingCentral, 8x8, or similar technologies is a strong plus.
  • Healthcare technology experience, including exposure to EHR/EMR environments, healthcare integrations, HIPAA, or healthcare data/security, is especially relevant given the company's current client base.
  • A hands‑on, curious mindset and willingness to get into the weeds to solve problems rather than simply escalators.

Salary range is around $115k-$140k.
