Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer for the CDP Payment Acceptance team within the Developer group. You will own end-to-end feature delivery across the Go backend and React/Next.js frontend, building a stablecoin payment rail for merchants of all sizes.

You will implement durable workflows with Temporal, measure impact with Datadog, and collaborate with Product, Design, and engineering teams to integrate Payment Acceptance into Coinbase's broader developer platform.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience shipping production systems in Go (concurrency, gRPC, testing) and TypeScript/React (hooks, suspense, server components, Next.js)
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL) with schema design, migrations, performance, and transactional correctness
• APIs design (protobuf/gRPC, REST, OpenAPI) and observability with Datadog or OpenTelemetry
• Experience with durable workflow systems (Temporal, Cadence, Step Functions) or with EVM blockchains and onchain payment patterns
• Clear design docs, PR descriptions, and runbooks for cross-team collaboration
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to improve workflows, cost, and quality

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end feature delivery across Go backend services and the React/Next.js merchant-facing checkout, including gRPC/HTTP APIs, protobufs, migrations, and TypeScript client integrations
• Build and refine the buyer checkout UI with a focus on conversion, accessibility, and performance
• Implement durable payment workflows using Temporal for onchain settlement, refunds, and reconciliation
• Instrument changes with logs, metrics, Datadog traces, and participate in on-call rotation for services shipped
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and engineering teams to integrate Payment Acceptance into Coinbase developer platform
