Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Software Engineer to advance the CDP Payment Acceptance team within the Developer group. You will ship full-stack features across Go backend and React/Next.js frontend, enabling a robust stablecoin payment rail for merchants and global commerce.

Responsibilities include end-to-end delivery, API design with protobuf/gRPC, database migrations, and DW instrumentation using Datadog. You will own on-call rotations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive reliability

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience shipping production systems in Go (concurrency, gRPC, testing) and TypeScript/React (hooks, suspense, server components, Next.js)
• Relational databases experience (PostgreSQL preferred), including schema design, migrations, and performance
• Designing APIs (protobuf/gRPC, REST, OpenAPI) with instrumentation and observability (Datadog/OpenTelemetry)
• Experience building durable workflow systems (Temporal, Cadence, or Step Functions) or working with EVM blockchains, stablecoins, and on-chain payment patterns
• Clear design docs, PR descriptions, and runbooks to enable cross-team collaboration and operational maturity
• Responsible use of generative AI tools in daily workflows, with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end feature delivery across Go backend services and the React/Next.js merchant-facing checkout experience, including gRPC/HTTP APIs, protobuf definitions, database migrations, and TypeScript client integrations
• Build and refine the buyer checkout UI (payment links, embeddable web components, WalletConnect flows) with a focus on conversion, accessibility, and performance
• Implement durable, fault-tolerant payment workflows using Temporal for on-chain settlement, refunds, and reconciliation against PostgreSQL
• Instrument changes with structured logs, metrics, and Datadog traces, and participate in on-call rotation for shipped services
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to integrate Payment Acceptance into the Coinbase developer platform
