Job summary

Chime is seeking a strong engineer to build scalable full-stack systems for our communications platform. You’ll help design backend infrastructure and define the messaging interface across our apps for millions of members, driving architectural changes to power real-time messaging at scale.

This is a foundational, high-impact role with a base salary starting at $133,000 and up to $184,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits; the actual offer depends on location, skills, and experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of fullstack development experience.
• Experience in backend development and frameworks (Bonus: GraphQL, Ruby).
• Experience in mobile development and frameworks (Bonus: React Native).
• Experience working cross-functionally and collaborating with team members.
• Understanding of architectural patterns for large production services built for scale.
• Passion for learning and sharing knowledge with teammates.
• Strong empathy for the users of the products you create.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, release, and scale changes to our mobile and backend architecture.
• Collaborate effectively with the cross functional team to solve complex problems within the team domain.
• Develop thoroughly tested code and conduct quality assurance on all new code.
• Work in a team as well as independently to deliver on goals and accelerate development velocity.
