Job summary

Chime is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to build and scale card products. You’ll own end-to-end features across backend services and frontend apps, collaborating across product, design, risk, and compliance to deliver reliable experiences for millions of members.

Compensation ranges from $164,000 to $227,000 base, with a bonus and equity package. The base may be higher based on location, skills, and experience; remote-friendly options may be considered with benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production-grade software experience and shipping user-facing features.
• Experience owning projects end-to-end including design, delivery, and impact.
• Strong backend APIs with Rails or similar; knowledge of modern frontend frameworks.
• Experience with databases, caching, and maintainable code.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive solutions with product stakeholders.
• Collaborative with product managers, designers, and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end development of complex product features from design to launch.
• Lead multi-engineer efforts, breaking down problems and driving scope.
• Design and build scalable backend and frontend systems for millions of users.
• Define solutions in ambiguous environments, aligning with product goals.
• Collaborate with product, design, risk, legal and compliance teams.
• Contribute to design decisions, balancing performance and maintainability.
• Raise engineering quality through code reviews and testing practices.
• Mentor other engineers and improve team velocity.
• Participate in on-call rotation for incident response.
