Job summary

Discord is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Notifications squad. You’ll own projects end-to-end, improve notification experiences, and collaborate across client, infrastructure, and ML teams.

You’ll pair with ML engineers to optimize signals, maintain the platform’s health and performance, and work with Product and Design to balance delight, speed, and impact. The role includes base pay, equity, and benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in one or more of Python, Elixir, or Typescript with eagerness to learn new languages and skills.
• A track record of delivering high quality software reliably and on time.
• Attention to detail and a quality-first mindset: you sweat the right details and catch your own bugs before they reach customers.

Responsibilities

• Improve client device experiences for receiving notifications and tailoring notification preferences.
• Build the platform that enables all other teams in the company to send delightful notifications while delivering the maximum value to our users.
• Pair with Machine Learning engineers to optimize global notification signals and quality.
• Maintain a high quality bar for our platform’s operational health and client performance.
• Pair with Product and Design leads to find the right solutions that balance delight, speed of delivery and impact.
