Discord Inc. in San Francisco is seeking a Software Engineer for the Notifications squad to own projects end-to-end, improve client experiences, and collaborate with ML to optimize notification signals.

You will work across product and design to balance user delight with fast delivery. With 2+ years of experience and proficiency in Python/Elixir/Typescript, you will contribute to a quality-driven culture and ship reliable features.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in one or more of Python, Elixir, or Typescript with eagerness to learn new languages.
• A track record of delivering high quality software reliably and on time.
• Attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.
• A customer-focused approach and ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Improve client device experiences for receiving notifications and tailoring notification preferences.
• Build the platform that enables all other teams to send notifications with maximum value.
• Pair with Machine Learning engineers to optimize global notification signals and quality.
• Maintain a high quality bar for the platform’s health and client performance.
• Collaborate with Product and Design to balance delight, speed, and impact.
