Job summary

Discord is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Notifications team in the Growth organization. You will lead a full‑stack team building and operating the notifications platform, including Elixir services, Python backends, pubsub pipelines, and the Kubernetes infrastructure underneath them.

You will set the technical direction for notifications infrastructure, partnering with product, design, data science, and marketing to drive the roadmap and user engagement, retention, and trust at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer building and operating backend or infrastructure systems at scale.
• 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager.
• Experience with Elixir, Python, pubsub/streaming pipelines, and Kubernetes with a reliability/cost mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of full‑stack engineers building and operating the notifications platform (Elixir services, Python backends, pubsub pipelines, Kubernetes infra).
• Set technical direction for notifications infrastructure and ensure scalable, reliable systems.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data Science, and Marketing to define and execute the notifications roadmap.
