Job summary

Discord is seeking a software engineer to build features for game developers across the Discord app, developer portal, APIs, real-time infrastructure, and Social SDK. You will collaborate with engineers to write, review, and ship scalable code enjoyed by millions.

You’ll own projects end-to-end from design to post-launch, work with product managers and designers, and actively use AI coding tools to boost productivity. The US base salary range is $160,000 to $180,000 plus equity and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with game development.
• Familiarity with Python, Elixir, Rust, TypeScript/React, or C++.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn.
• Experience using AI coding tools.

Responsibilities

• Build features for game developers across the Discord app, developer portal, APIs, realtime infrastructure, and Social SDK.
• Collaborate with engineers to write, review, and ship scalable code.
• Own projects end-to-end from initial design through post-launch.
• Listen to partner needs & work with DevRelations to address questions.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and partner managers to move forward through ambiguity.
• Maintain high quality with attention to detail.
