Job summary

Financial Statement Services, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Application Development team supporting production apps, web-based solutions, APIs, and document templates.

You’ll work on full-stack development with C#/.NET, RESTful APIs, and database access, with training and a hybrid option after 90 days. You’ll collaborate with QA and DevOps, participate in CI/CD, and gain exposure to cloud services and secure coding practices while contributing to template updates and data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, SWE, IT or related field strongly preferred.
• 1–2 years of software engineering, full stack app development, API development or document composition preferred.
• Strong foundation in C#, object-oriented programming and modern .NET development, including .NET Core / ASP.NET Core.
• Working knowledge of ASP.NET Core MVC and/or Razor Pages, Web API development, DI, authentication/authorization.
• Familiarity with SQL Server and EF Core, LINQ, and data access patterns.
• Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, API authentication, and integration patterns.
• Exposure to unit and integration testing frameworks, CI/CD concepts, and DevOps tooling.
• Exposure to cloud and container tech like AWS and Docker is preferred.
• Understanding of OWASP secure coding practices and data protection essentials.
• Familiarity with data mapping, structured data formats and templates.
• Experience with composition tools (OpenText Exstream, Quadient Inspire).
• Git workflows, branching, merge requests, secure coding, debugging, testing, code reviews.
• Solid attention to detail, problem solving, and collaboration.
• Familiarity with postal/mailing software concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project requests and identify updates to applications or templates.
• Lead discussions with stakeholders to design robust apps and templates for production workflows.
• Interpret input data formats and map data relations.
• Develop and maintain C# apps using .NET / ASP.NET Core.
• Design and troubleshoot RESTful APIs and JSON integrations.
• Work with SQL Server, write queries and manage data access.
• Maintain templates with OpenText Exstream or Quadient Inspire.
• Implement clean, testable code with SOLID principles and DI.
• Submit Git merge requests and participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps on testing, deployments and monitoring.
• Engage in cloud deployments and containerization (AWS, Docker).
• Support production issues and implement fixes in a timely manner.
• Ensure changes align with development standards and best practices.
• Integrations with internal APIs, services, and third-party apps.
