Job Description

Join the Supply Chain Information Technologies Inbound Logistics Team as a Software Engineer. We aim to build a platform that handles all vendor and Ford System data integration for Inbound Logistics. The company is transitioning the Material Management software to a new platform, and our goal is to provide the necessary data in the right format at the right time for this new technology at Ford. This position will transform Ford's operations and focus on improving operational efficiency.

Seeking a full-stack software engineer with business acumen in Supply Chain Inbound Logistics. This role involves building a GCP integration platform between operational systems supporting production at Ford Manufacturing facilities. The candidate should have experience designing and building interfaces for data reception, formatting, and transmission. Relevant experience in Supply Chain or Manufacturing IT is preferred.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop function/system specifications and swagger documents for peer review and implementation.
  2. Design and build solutions to receive and send operational data in near real-time using Google Cloud Platform services like API, Pub/Sub, Batch processes.
  3. Communicate effectively with vendors, product managers, process owners, and stakeholders.
  4. Identify and document issues and risks.
  5. Support operations during system failures.
  6. Grow and develop using the latest technology and learn business operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or related field.
  • At least 1 year of automotive manufacturing experience using IT to improve cost or quality.
  • Experience applying IT solutions to improve supply chain costs and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in development tools such as Java SpringBoot, Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, DataFlow), Terraform, PostgreSQL, Docker, Github, Python, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Tekton), and familiarity with AI or Machine Learning is a plus.
