About the role
- We are seeking a Software Integration Engineer to support the administration, maintenance, and operational support of the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) component within the CASA Compute Environment (CCE). The ideal candidate will help manage secure, multi-tenant Kubernetes clusters operating in a Linux-based infrastructure while ensuring platform reliability, scalability, security, and high availability.
What you'll do
- Administer, maintain, and supportKubernetes-based PaaS environments.
- Monitor and optimize platform reliability, performance, scalability, and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related toKubernetes workloads, including networking, ingress, storage, and performance.
- Develop automation scripts usingBash and Python.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications usingDocker and Podman.
- ImplementInfrastructure as Code (IaC)solutions using tools such asAnsible.
- Create, deploy, and maintainHelm Chartsfor Kubernetes applications.
- Monitor system health using tools such asPrometheus and Grafana.
- Utilize Git for source control, branching strategies, and collaborative development.
- Support mission-critical applications within a secure, Linux-based compute environment.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenshipwith an activeTS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- One of the following education/experience combinations:
- Bachelor’s degree inComputer Science or a related technical fieldplus6+ years of experienceintegrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supportingCOTS/GOTS softwarein heterogeneous operating system environments.
- Five years of directly related Computer Science experience may substitute for a degree, in addition to6+ years of relevant Software Integration Engineering experience.
- Experience working withLinux command-line tools and environments.
- Experience developing automation scripts usingBash and Python.
- Experience withDocker, Podman, and containerization technologies.
- Experience administering and monitoringKubernetes clusters.
- Experience troubleshooting Kubernetes workloads, includingnetworking, ingress, storage, and performance.
- Experience implementingInfrastructure as Code (IaC)using automation tools such asAnsible.
- Experience creating and maintainingHelm Charts.
- Experience usingPrometheus and Grafanafor system monitoring.
- Experience usingGitfor source control and collaborative development.
- Experience with theAtlassian Tool Suite, including Jira and Confluence.
- Experience working inAgile and DevOps environments.
- Experience developingPython applications, including REST services and microservices, or a willingness to learn.
- Experience supporting enterprise Kubernetes platforms and mission-critical cloud infrastructure.
The pay range for this role is:
185,000 - 220,000 USD per year (Annapolis Junction, MD)
