Job summary

Culper Technology in Annapolis Junction, MD is seeking a Software Engineer to design, implement, test, and integrate mission-critical software using Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm. You will work with COTS, GOTS, and FOSS stacks in a DevOps driven environment, delivering secure, scalable solutions.

Applicants should have TS/SCI clearance, Linux experience, and strong background in containerization, CI/CD, and NoSQL databases, with a track record in modern software practices.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship with active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ or 7+ years in Software Engineering.
• 9+ years in software engineering for similar scope and contracts.
• Experience with Linux CLI and MongoDB NoSQL.
• Proficiency in Rust or willingness to learn it.
• Docker, Kubernetes, Helm for containerized deployments.
• CI/CD with GitLab CI and IaC with Ansible.
• Experience with Git source control and RabbitMQ messaging.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot mission-critical software applications.
• Design, implement, test, and integrate software with existing systems and 3rd-party tech.
• Develop solutions using Python and modern development practices.
• Support containerized application development and deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Create and maintain Helm Charts for Kubernetes deployments.
• Develop automation scripts and improve operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot complex software and system integration issues.
• Support CI/CD workflows, infrastructure automation, and source control practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable mission capabilities.

Education

Masters degree in Computer Science or related discipline +5+ years of Software Engineering experience

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline +7+ years

9+ years of Software Engineering experience in similar scope/Contracts

Linux command-line tools experience

Rust programming concepts or willingness to learn Rust

About the role

The pay range for this role is:

220,000 - 235,000 USD per year (Annapolis Junction, MD)
