Job summary

CarGurus is seeking a Software Development Engineer Intern for the International Engineering team in Boston, MA. This 11‑week summer program runs June–August 2027, with a hybrid model and in-office work about 60% of the time.

You will gain hands-on experience across full-stack technologies and collaborate with teams across Canada and the UK. You’ll work with Java, MySQL, and frontend stacks (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Remix), contribute to microservices, and grow through mentorship from

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of Java, algorithms, and data structures.
• Familiar with front-end tech (React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on building applications using Java, MySQL, and front-end tech.
• Contribute to CarGurus International presence (Canada & UK).
• Work with data analysts, product managers, and other engineers.
• Engage in whiteboard sessions and design discussions to solve engineering challenges.
• Run quick experiments to validate new insights and ideas.
• Write clean, well-tested, efficient code and seek mentorship from senior engineers.
