Job summary

DocuSign's CLM Workflow team is seeking a Software Engineer Intern in Chicago, IL. This 3-month internship involves building an Expression AI Assistant inside the Workflow Designer to help authors understand, debug, and optimize expressions.

Hybrid work with weekly in-office days and collaboration with engineers and product partners will be required. You'll gain hands-on experience with modern web technologies, AI/ML concepts, and write technical documentation while contributing to real product

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with expected graduation 2027–2028.
Major in Computer Science or Software Engineering or similar.
Experience with at least one modern language (C#, JavaScript, TypeScript).
Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, debugging, and hybrid teamwork.

Responsibilities

Design and implement features for an Expression AI Assistant in the Workflow Designer UI.
Develop analysis engine to detect anti-patterns and performance issues.
Create explanations of expressions in plain English and generate scaffolds from natural language.
Contribute to UI integration and safe change application in test environments.
Participate in an 8–12 week project roadmap from research to documentation.
Document technical work and present demos to stakeholders.
